Refreshments
Food: Light charcuterie from Jillian’s Farmstead Kitchen will include cheeses, crackers, nuts, fruit, and local meat from Sycamore Banks Farm. Come having dinner already; we will not provide a meal.
Drinks: Our co-host, Clem Hott Vineyard grows grapes right on the Homestead. Their first wines are both reds, and I will say, having people who aren’t wine lovers in my family, they love these wines! One drink is included in your ticket. Buy a bottle to take home and be entered to win another local vase from Potomac Clay.
“The Journey” - a blend of Petite Pearl, Norton, and Chambourcin grapes— the first red varietals grown in this vineyards soil. What began as a reflection of owners, Mike & Brittany’s own story— two paths converging through love of the land, good wine, and life well lived.
“Bewitching Burden” - The Spotted Lanternfly is no match for the enduring Chambourcin grape. This is a French-American hybrid that thrive in the linestone-rich soils at Clem Hott Vineyard. Medium-bosied with dark fruit notes and a touch of spice, Chambourcin rewards both grower and glass. A favorite among VA wine lovers.
Bottled Water and a water cup station available.
Rain or Shine
The weather is looking in our favor with some rain to cool off our evening, however, be prepared in case it rains or shines! If it rains, you can take an umbrella (brought by you) out to cut around the property. If you will melt in the rain, feel free to to stay in the barn and enjoy the pre-picked blooms and breeze from the summer rain.
Come Dressed for the Elements
Clem Hott Vineyard provides a homestead experience. The barn, not air conditioned, but beautiful wide open doors and fans to keep us cool. The blooms, we will be walking around the property as you choose, and with the rain, come prepared to get your shoes wet or possibly muddy. Come as fancy, cute, or no-so-cute as you like. We just ask that you come as yourself. Gloves will be provided if you wish to have some.
The Blooms
It’s been a hot one, so with that, the long rows of pollinator blooms at the Vineyard are on their way out. We will still have flowers to cut from the rows, but we will be going about the property to explore other blooms. Shady Hill will be bringing pre-cut blooms to help fill our arrangements. So think of this as a “Sip & Snip/Pick out your favs”.
