Start Your Shenandoah Valley Weekend at the Flower Frolic
On Saturday, September 19, 2026, the first annual Flower Frolic will take over downtown Woodstock, Virginia.
Hosted by Shady Hill Homestead, Golden Acres Flower Farm, Nana's Blue Greenhouse, and Woodstock Enhancement, Flower Frolic is a celebration of locally grown flowers, downtown businesses, and community.
You build your bouquet one stem at a time.
Your $35 ticket gives you a container and a map when you check in. From there, you'll stroll through downtown Woodstock, visiting participating businesses and collecting a flower stem at each stop.
There are 10 participating businesses with flower stems, and you can collect up to 10 stems as you make your way around town.

These local businesses will be welcoming you throughout the day with their own flower-related specials, shopping, food, drinks, art, and other surprises.
In other words, your bouquet becomes a reason to explore downtown.
Notes about the Flower Frolic?
The event is designed to be enjoyed at your own pace, you don't have to arrive at exactly 10 AM.
Check-in is available from 10 AM–2 PM, and Flower Frolic runs from 10 AM–4 PM.
Just be sure to check in by 2 PM so you have plenty of time to enjoy all of your stops.
The event is rain or shine, and there are only 100 tickets available.

Explore Downtown Woodstock
One of the best parts of Flower Frolic is that you'll already be walking through downtown.
Stay a little longer.
Explore the local shops. Grab breakfast or lunch. Visit an art gallery. Browse Bonfire Bookstore. Enjoy a coffee or a locally made drink.
The Town of Woodstock highlights a variety of locally owned restaurants, shops, and attractions throughout the community.
And several of the businesses participating in Flower Frolic are destinations in their own right.
Take in the Shenandoah Valley Views
If you have a little extra time, head up to Woodstock Tower for sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley and the Seven Bends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River.
It's a wonderful reminder of why people come to the Shenandoah Valley in the first place.
For a quieter outdoor experience closer to town, consider Seven Bends State Park, which offers trails and access to the natural landscape surrounding the North Fork. There is an interactive garden and playground for kids here as well.
Enjoy a Local Meal
After walking all over downtown collecting flowers, you'll probably work up an appetite.

Then on Sunday, Head to Edinburg
Here's where the weekend gets even better.
The 45th Edinburg Ole Time Festival takes place September 18–20, 2026, making it the perfect Sunday activity after your Saturday Flower Frolic adventure. The festival is the oldest community festival in Shenandoah County and celebrates the area's history, culture, craftsmanship, music, and small-town traditions.
Saturday is about flowers, downtown businesses, shopping, creativity, and locally grown blooms.
Sunday takes you back in time.
The Edinburg Ole Time Festival features traditional crafts and demonstrations, live music, antique cars and tractors, living-history activities, crafters and artisans, and some wonderfully old-fashioned entertainment.

The Sunday schedule gives you plenty of reasons to stay in the area.
You can begin with an old-time church service, then enjoy music, line dancing, and the Ole Time Baseball Game.
Later in the afternoon, there's the Amazing Bed Race and, at 4 PM, the Duck Race at Stony Creek.
